The product rule
Every dictation needs a dependable outcome.
Once recording is visibly underway, every dictation needs a dependable outcome. Dictaty inserts the finished text, leaves a clipboard copy, or keeps the local recording for another transcription attempt. Recording and transcription run on the Mac after setup. No account or subscription is required.

UX/UI
Onboarding, permissions, two shortcuts, recording HUD, language controls, custom words and local History.

Swift and SwiftUI engineering, local recording and transcription, cursor insertion, clipboard delivery and recovery paths.

Bilingual product website, interactive product demonstration, licence delivery, checkout and transactional email.
Release and ongoing development
Developer ID signing, Apple notarization, download delivery, signed updates, support and continued development.

Signed, notarized and distributed through its own product website.
Dictaty 1.0.1 is distributed through dictaty.com. The first release supports Apple silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later. The app is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple. Internet is required for activation, downloads and updates. Recordings and transcripts are not sent to a Dictaty server.
