Our app · macOS · Local AI
Dictaty turns speech into text locally on the Mac. Weblikon developed the product, UX/UI, native app, product website, licensing and release infrastructure.
Dictaty is our own app. Weblikon developed it from the product idea through the released macOS product.

The product rule
Once recording is visibly underway, every dictation needs a dependable outcome. Dictaty inserts the finished text, leaves a clipboard copy, or keeps the local recording for another transcription attempt. Recording and transcription run on the Mac after setup. No account or subscription is required.
What we built
Audience, core journey, recovery rule and a focused scope for the first release.
Onboarding, permissions, two shortcuts, recording HUD, language controls, custom words and local History.
Swift and SwiftUI engineering, local recording and transcription, cursor insertion, clipboard delivery and recovery paths.
Bilingual product website, interactive product demonstration, licence delivery, checkout and transactional email.
Developer ID signing, Apple notarization, download delivery, signed updates, support and continued development.
What is live today
Dictaty 1.0.1 is distributed through dictaty.com. The first release supports Apple silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later. The app is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple. Internet is required for activation, downloads and updates. Recordings and transcripts are not sent to a Dictaty server.
We start by defining the smallest useful release and the parts that genuinely need to be built.
